Series I Have Quit

Let’s try to bring this blog back to normal, or at least sort of normal. I was watching some videos on youtube, and a few people were talking about series that they quit. Meaning they started it, and might have even gotten close to finishing it, but then lost interest. I have done this a few times, in fact looking through Goodreads, I realized there were plenty of series that did not keep me interested. Some of these books might still be sitting on my shelf but maybe I should pack them up and donate them.

Snow Like Ashes

snow like ashes

Sigh. I have spoken about this before, but it needs to be mentioned in this list. This story has nothing unique to offer. I read Ice Like Fire as well because I was given a copy from the publisher to review, and It became very clear to me that I did not connect to any of the characters, so sorry to say, I will not be reading the last book.

Schooled in Magic

If you haven’t heard about this series, you are not missing anything. I read the first couple hundred pages of this one and it was such a blatant ripoff of Harry Potter that I could not continue it. I don’t normally rip into writers and their series, but this is horrid and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The Darkest Minds

I know this series is popular, and I can sort of get it, but when I finished reading this first book, I found that I actually wasn’t interested in what happens next. Maybe one day I will try it again, but right now it looks like a no go.

Wool series or (Silo Series)

This is actually a huge maybe, because I actually loved the first novel Wool. Then the second one seemed like a prequel, so I HATE prequels for the most part and I refused to spend my money on it. Maybe I will skip it and head into the third book instead.

Southern Reach Series

This might be the most disappointing one on the list. I LOVED the first book in this series. It was refreshing and unique. I loved how weird the story was and even got my best friend to read it. Then we both tried to read the second one in the series and we were instantly bored. and I do mean BORED.

I don’t know how such a great beginning and idea can end up so bad but I tried so hard to finish it and just failed to do so. Maybe one day I will give it another shot, but today is not that day.

City of Bones

If you know me, you know my feelings on this series. I WILL NEVER EVER FINISH THIS. and that’s that.

Comment below with some series that you have decided to quit, or share your opinions on my choices. Just keep in mind that we are all different so you may love something on this list, but clearly, I did not.

I just got The Darkest Minds so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy that! I’ve given up on TMI several times but I keep having friends insist that it gets better. Now that I’ve read 4 out of 6 of them I think I may just finish them at some point but I agree that it’s not a series I really enjoy at all.

I agree with you on the Silo Series. I ripped the pages out of the first one, limped through the second and now the third one flutters its pages at me and gives me long looks.
