Last month I saw this game pop up in the Playstation Store and became instantly curious. Life is Strange is a 5 part episodic game, developed by Dontnod Entertainment and Published by Square Enix.
There are two episodes out now, and I have played both already. I enjoyed it. It’s not Dragon Age intense but the story is strange enough that it keeps you wanting to know more. Like most episodic games, the choices you make tend to mold which way the story plays out.
I don’t want to give away much from the story, so your best bet is to play it and enjoy.(or click on the photo above and go to their site!!) The first episode is a bit slow. The dialogue is a bit awful if I am going to be honest, but still I want to know the secrets in the story. Also the element of photography within the game is pretty awesome (for me anyway) .
The second episode definitely gets a lot more interesting, and now I am really looking forward to the third one which I hope comes out soon.
I read up on the game and apparently when the developer was looking for a publisher, A LOT of them wanted to change the lead character to a male lead. Square was the one that took it on without wanting to change the female lead game.
Life is Strange brings up the importance of having more female leads available for female gamers. There’s a lot of us, and it would be nice to not always be shown as skimpy outfit wearing side acts.
Check it out, the episodes aren’t expensive and you will also be showing that a female lead in a game is something that we really really want more of!!
